Here's a quick rundown of the place:

We have a large pool, spa pool, sauna, gym and a shared private lawn with barbecue. We are surrounded by parks and metres from a Chinese restaurant, cafe, liquor/convenience store, a day spa with floatation tanks and free tennis courts.

The room itself faces a park, has ducted aircon, a spare bed, new linens, a desk, lamp and monitor. It has its own private bathroom next to the room.

Two of our family were born in New Zealand, two in Thailand. We are in our 40s, and have been married more than 20 years. Our lovely 16-year-old son is academic and loves volleyball. Our fun 20-year-old stays sometimes. We have a tiny dwarf rabbit who hangs out in the living room.

We've lived in Balmain for ten years and we love it here! It's full of restaurants and pubs. It's like a small village right next to the city out on its own peninsula like an island. It is one of the best (and most expensive) suburbs in Sydney. We are ten minutes walk from buses that go to the city every few minutes. This is where thousands of people come to watch the New Year’s Eve fireworks on the harbour bridge.

We eat a mixture of Asian (particularly Thai) and European food. I think it's fair to say we're pretty good cooks. Some of us eat anything, some avoid red meat. We eat a vegetarian meal most weeks.

It would be great if you're friendly, tidy and quiet. Absolutely no smoking inside or out. No heavy drinkers. I'm sorry your pets can't come with you. Everyone in our home does some chores and cooks. (It would be great to try your food!) This isn't a hotel, it's a family. We are looking for a young person who wants to join us and stay in touch for years to come! We'd love to show you around!

We are warm and friendly people, always making jokes and laughing. The lovely Thai Mum started her stay in New Zealand at a homestay and she still keeps in touch with them. The friendly Kiwi Dad had a homestay student stay with him when he was a teenager, and she brought a lovely smile and bright energy to the home. We'd love to be a part of your adventure over here!
